Cancer remains one of the most deadly diseases that can affect all of us, sooner or later. According to GLOBOCAN statistics in 2020, the both morbidity and mortality from cancer all over the world tend to increase. In Vietnam, there are an estimated 182,563 new cases and 122,690 deaths due to cancer per year. For every 100,000 people, 159 are diagnosed with cancer and 106 die from cancer. That remains a grim statistic.
In 2020, Vietnam ranked 91/185 in terms of the new incidence rate and 50/185 in the mortality rate per 100,000 people. These rankings for 2018 are 99/185 and 56/185 respectively. Thus, it is clear that the new morbidity and mortality from cancer in Vietnam are increasing rapidly.

The statistics show that cancer of the digestive tract (cancer of the colon, stomach, intestines, liver, bile-pancreas ...) is the most common cancer in Vietnam and is one of the four most deadly cancers.
Screening for early detection of gastrointestinal cancer plays the most important role in cancer treatment. When the cancer is detected at an early stage, the treatment will be more effective and less costly.
